HPU teachers among top 2% scientists in world

Bhatia’s research focused on the sustainable utilisation of Himalayan bioresources, hydrogen storage technologies, and bio-manufacturing innovationsShimla: Senior professor Reena Gupta and assistant professor Ravi Kant Bhatia from the department of biotechnology at Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), Shimla, have been recognised among the ‘World’s Top 2% Scientists’, a global ranking released by Stanford University and Elsevier.With a career spanning 38 years of research and 29 years of teaching, professor Gupta contributed significantly to biochemistry, immunology, enzyme technology, and microbial biotechnology. She guided 14 PhD, 28 MPhil, and 123 MSc dissertations, with many of her students excelling in academia and industry.According to the HPU press statement, Bhatia’s research focused on the sustainable utilisation of Himalayan bioresources, hydrogen storage technologies, and bio-manufacturing innovations, areas of global relevance to clean energy and green economy transitions. He was also actively involved in projects promoting sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, and value-added products from forest resources.
