Strike Suspended Amid Judge Yashwant Varma’s Transfer Controversy
Prayagraj: The Allahabad High Court Bar Association has suspended its strike on the fifth day of protest against the transfer of Delhi HC judge Yashwant Varma. The association decided to pause the protest until the inquiry report on the alleged unaccounted cash recovery at Varma’s official premises is released.
Bar Association to Boycott Oath Ceremony
Although the strike is on hold, the association has decided to boycott Justice Varma’s oath ceremony. The Union Law Ministry notified his transfer on Friday, following a recommendation by the Supreme Court Collegium for his repatriation to the Allahabad High Court.
Press Conference Scheduled for April 26
The Bar Association will hold a national-level press conference on April 26 to announce its next course of action.
