National College of Ireland Announces INR 75 Lakh Scholarships for Indian PG Students

National College of Ireland (NCI) has announced scholarships worth INR 75,00,000 for need- and merit-based Indian postgraduate students as part of its 75th anniversary initiatives. The announcement is aimed at strengthening academic mobility, skills development and long-term education collaboration between India and Ireland. The event brought together Irish diplomatic representatives and Indian academic leaders, including Kevin Kelly, Ambassador of Ireland to India. Discussions focused on the growing demand among Indian students for international postgraduate programmes that combine academic quality with strong employability outcomes.Speaking at the event, NCI President Gina Quinn said institutions must support international students not only academically but also in building sustainable careers. She added that India’s focus on skills, innovation and industry relevance aligns closely with NCI’s mission as a state-funded institution to deliver education connected directly to employment outcomes. Established in 1951, NCI is a not-for-profit institution supported by Ireland’s Higher Education Authority. The INR 75 lakh scholarship initiative will be offered as tuition fee reductions for Indian students enrolling in selected postgraduate programmes across business, computing and psychology, with the aim of easing financial pressures while widening access to industry-aligned education in Dublin.Robert Ward, Director of Marketing and International Development at NCI, said the institution prioritises programmes aligned with employer needs, supported by industry-integrated curricula and strong academic support systems to enhance graduate employability.Ireland has continued to attract Indian postgraduate students seeking specialised, career-focused education within a compact and industry-connected ecosystem. The country’s post-study work framework allows eligible non-EU graduates to remain for up to two years after completing a Level 9 qualification, supporting their transition into employment.Currently serving over 6,500 students, NCI maintains strong linkages with employers across Ireland’s finance and technology sectors and has built a growing Indian alumni network. The anniversary event concluded with alumni engagement and discussions on employability-led education, institutional collaboration and the evolving future of India–Ireland academic partnerships.
