Speaking at the event, Dr Sudhakar praised the initiative and said it would create new academic and research opportunities for students. He also stressed the government’s commitment to strengthening higher education and research in public universities. Professor Suresh Renukappa, Director of the Centre, spoke about its focus areas during his opening address.He said the centre would work on important topics such as climate resilience, healthcare, smart cities.Double gold in Ayurveda studiesDr Sarada MK, a postgraduate student from Government Ayurveda Medical College, Mysuru, has secured the gold medal in MD (Ayurveda Samhita and Siddhanta) at the annual examination conducted by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru, in March 2025. Earlier, she had also clinched a gold medal during her BAMS course at Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute of Ayurveda and Hospital, Bengaluru.
