Modi Honors RSS Legacy

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid floral tribute to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar in Nagpur. During his visit, he also met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat at Smruti Mandir, the organization’s administrative headquarters.

His visit coincided with the Sangh’s ‘Pratipada’ program, which marks Gudi Padwa, the Hindu New Year celebration.

Historic Significance of the Visit

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson CR Kesavan highlighted the importance of this occasion. He emphasized that this is the centenary year of RSS, making Modi the first sitting Prime Minister to pay homage at Smruti Mandir.

“This visit reflects the RSS’s immense contribution to nation-building,” Kesavan said. He further praised the organization for preserving India’s culture and traditions over the years.

BJP vs. Congress on Cultural Values

Kesavan also compared the RSS’s role in uniting the nation with the Congress party’s approach. He criticized Congress for dividing India along religious lines while prioritizing vote-bank politics.

“The Congress attacks dharma and India’s heritage. In contrast, the RSS and BJP actively protect and promote Indian culture,” he added.

PM Modi’s Development Push in Chhattisgarh

Later in the day, Modi will visit Chhattisgarh to launch several development projects. An official release detailed that he will:
Lay the foundation stone for key infrastructure projects.
Inaugurate initiatives across power, oil and gas, rail, road, education, and housing sectors.
✅ Oversee investments worth ₹33,700 crore in Bilaspur.
